SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 4
BIBLE VERSES:
“Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)
““You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11)
THE THRONES IN HEAVEN (vs. 1-11)
These are the images that John saw:
- Saviour was sitting at a throne in heaven with appearance of Jasper and carnelian (vs 2-3a)
- A rainbow, resembling an emerald encircled the throne (v. 3b)
- Twenty four other thrones surrounded the throne with 24 elders seated on them dressed in white with crown of gold in their heads.
- From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder with seven lamps blazing which represent the 7 spirits of God.
- Before the throne, there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal (v. 6a)
- Four living creatures covered with eyes in front and in back were four living creatures (v. 6b)
- The living creatures look like – first – lion, second- ox, third – man, fourth- flying eagle (v. 7)
- All four living creatures have 6 wings and was covered with eyes all around saying: Holy, holy, holy is the Lor dgod Almighty, who was, and is , and is to come (v. 8)
The 24 elders fall down and worship the one who sits on the throne and say: You are worthy our Lord God to receive glory, and honor and power, for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being:” (v. 11)
THOUGHTS:
VISION OF HEAVEN:
- An Open Door – when the trumpet sounds, God’s people will be called to heaven.
- A Throne in heaven – God the Faith is on the throne.
- A Rainbow around the throne – Pictures the grace of God.
- A Praise group – Living creatures singing and worshiping Him.
