THOUGHTS:
Moses’ heart was filled with love for his people. In this chapter, he gave his parting benediction and asked God’s blessings on various tribes. The tribe of Simeon was left out and absorbed in Judah.
The Lord is our refuge and true security. He is the eternal God who always open out his arms to catch us when we are about to collapse. No storm can destroy us when we take refuge in Him.
The description of the spiritual position of God’s people:
- In God’s hands and at his feet. (v. 3)
- Between his shoulders (v. 12)
- By His everlasting arms (v. 27)
God precious promise to us:
- “As your days, so shall your strength be” (v. 25)
- “Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord” (v. 29a)
- He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. (v. 29b)
- You will trample down your enemies’ high places. (v. 29c)
God gave each tribe different blessings. To one, he gave the best land, to another strength, to another safety. God draws out the unique talent in each people and give them gifts needed to complete his plan. Do not compare the gifts that God has given to another people. Instead, look for the gifts God has given you and do the task he has uniquely qualified you to do.
