SCRIPTURE: 2 SAMUEL 22
BIBLE VERSES:
“To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.” (2 Samuel 22:26-28)
“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.” ( 2 Samuel 22:31-32)
“Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.” (2 Samuel 22:50)

- The horn of my salvation
- My stronghold
- My refuge
- My Savior
THE DANGERS SUFFERED BY DAVID: (vs.5-6)
- Waves of death
- Torrents of destruction
- Cord of the grave
- Snares of death
WHAT GOD DOES (vs. 8-16)
- The earth trembled and quaked.
- The foundations of the heaves shook
- Smoke rose from his nostrils
- Consuming fire came from his mouth
- He parted the heavens and came down
- He mounted the cherubim and flew
- He made darkness his canopy
- He shot arrows and scattered the enemies
WHAT GOD DID TO DAVID (vs. 17-20 / 34-49)
- He reached down from on high and took hold of me.
- He drew me out of deep waters.
- He rescued me from my powerful enemy and foes.
- He brought me out into a spacious place.
- He arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
- He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and enables me to stand on the heights.
- He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
- He gives me shield of victory and stoop down to make me great.
- He broadened the path beneath me so that my ankles do not turn.
- He armed me with strength for battle and made my adversaries bow at my feet.
- He made my enemies turn their backs in flight and I destroyed my foes.
- He delivered me from the attacks of my people.
- He preserved me as the head of nations.
- He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me and sets me free from my enemies.
- He exalted me above my foes and rescued me from violent men.
THOUGHTS:
David composed a song to praise God. He did not take credit for any of his victories. He gave all the glory to God. He cried out to the Lord for deliverance and God gave him strength. When we experience times of trial and testing, call the Lord for help and give him the glory due Him.
