THOUGHTS:

Description of the death of the wicked:

  1. It is like a lamp without light and flame full of darkness. (vs. 5-6)
  2. It is like his feet being trapped by a mesh in his path. (vs. 8-10)
  3. It is like a criminal being pursued with calamity, disasters, terrors and without security (vs. 11-15)
  4. It is like fire being burned with his name and memory perished from the land and banished from the world without offspring or descendants nor survivor among his people. (vs. 15-19).

Bildad saw Job as an illustration of the consequences of sin.  He rejected Job’s side of the story because it did not fit in with his outlook on life.  May we learn not to act the same way by insisting on our own idea.
