SCRIPTURE: PSALMS 17
MEMORY VERSE:
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings from the wicked who assail me, from any moral enemies who surround me.” (Psalms 17:8-9)
DAVID’S APPEAL TO GOD:
- God’s ear – Hear my righteous plea. (v. 1)
- God’s eyes – See what is right. (v. 2)
- God’s hand – Save me by your right hand. (v. 7)
- God’s likeness – I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. (v. 15)
THOUGHTS:
David was surrounded by his wicked mortal enemies . They were like hungry lion preying David. But with God’s ear, God’s eyes, God’s hand, and God’s likeness, David was assured of His protection and presence. As children of God, He also protects and guides us through painful circumstances. He guards us just as a mother bird protects his young by caring them with her wings. So, be courageous for God is our stronghold. Do not be afraid! He will vindicate for us.
