DAVID DESCRIBED HIS SITUATION:
- I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. (v. 6)
- All who see me mock me; they hurt insults, shaking their heads saving: He trusts in the Lord; let the Lord rescue them. Let him deliver them, since he delights in him” (vs. 7-8)

- My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth’ you lay me in the dust of death. (v. 15)
- Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet. (v. 16)
- I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. (v. 17)
- They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing. (v. 18)
DAVID’S PROMISES TO GOD:
- I will declare your name to my brothers, in the congregation i will praise you. (v. 22)
- From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you will i fulfill my vows. (v. 25)
THOUGHTS;
This Psalms described David’s suffering. It also presents the crucifixion of Christ as follows:
- Verse 1 – Christ spoke those words
- Verse 2 – There was light and darkness.
- Verses 6-8 – The reproach and insults of the people.
- Verses 11-13 – No help was being offered to Him.
- Verse 16 – His hands and feet being pierced.
- Verse 17 – People insulted him.
- Verse 18 – People cast lots ands divided his garments.
- From Verse 19-31 – We see His glory and resurrection depicting praise and promise. Christ is no longer in the midst of his enemies but in the midst of the church.
David praised God in public for his deliverance. We must also offer public praise and testimony for His love, care and protection.
