SCRIPTURE: PSALM 62
MEMORY VERSES:
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:8)
WHO IS GOD TO DAVID?
- He finds rest in God alone. ()v. 1)
- God is his rock, salvation and fortress. (v. 2)
- God is his hope. (v. 5)
- God is his mighty rock and refuge. (v. 7)
- God is strong. (v. 11)
- God is loving. (v. 12a)
- God will reward each person according to what he has done. (v. 12)
DAVID’S ADVICES TO PEOPLE:
- Find rest in God alone. (v. 1)
- Trust in Him at all times and pour out your hurts to Him. (v. 8)
- Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods and do not set your hearts on riches. (v. 10)
THOUGHTS:
HOW DID DAVID HANDLE HIS PROBLEMS?
- He depended on God alone. (vs. 1-2)
- He waited patiently for God to act. (vs. 3-7)
- He trust in Him at all times. (vs. 8-10)
- He fully believed in His strength, his love, and his justice. (vs. 11-12)
