SCRIPTURE: PSALM 43
MEMORY VERSE:
“Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; rescue me from deceitful and wicked men.”
(Psalm 43:1)
PETITION OF THE PSALMIST:
- Vindicate me, O God. (v. 1a)
- Plead my cause against an ungodly nation. (v. 1b)
- Rescue me from deceitful and wicked men. (v. 1c)
- Send forth your light and truth to guide me. (v. 3a)
- Bring me to your holy mountain, your dwelling place. (v. 3b)
The Psalmist asked God to send his light and truth to guide him to the holy mount – His temple, where he can experience joy and praise him with harp.
THOUGHTS:
The temple was built at Mount Zion in Jerusalem. The People met God to worship and pray at the temple. The Psalmist was able to meet God at the temple through the guidance of God’s light and God’s truth. Similarly, if we are surrounded by darkness, we should follow God’s light and truth to enable us to meet Him.
