SCRIPTURE: PSALM 91
MEMORY VERSES:
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)
“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:2)
“If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the Lord, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” (Psalm 91:9-11)
The author encouraged people to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty in order to be secured. For God is our refuge and fortress.
BENEFITS OF MAKING THE MOST HIGH YOUR DWELLING PLACE:

- You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. (vs. 5-6)
- You will never fall. (v. 7)
- No harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. (v. 10)
- His angels will guard your ways. (v. 11)

- He will rescue and protect you. (v. 14)
- He will answer your call. (v. 15a)
- He will be with you in trouble. (v. 15b)
- He will deliver you and honor you. (v/ 15c)
- He will satisfy you with long life and show you his salvation. (v. 156)
THOUGHTS:
The theme of this Psalm is SECURITY. All of us are facing all kinds of dangers – pestilence & plague (v. 6), stones (vs. 11-12), lions, snakes and cobra (v. 13). But God is our shelter and refuge. He watches over us even in times of great stress and fear. He will satisfy us with long life and show us his salvation. All we need is to “live” and “rest” with him by entrusting ourselves to his protection and pledging our daily devotion to Him.
