SCRIPTURE: PSALM 105
MEMORY VERSES:
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts, glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice” (Psalm 105:1-3)
God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and promised to give them the land of Canaan as their inheritance. This Psalm recorded the 10 plagues in Egypt before the exodus of Israelites. It wrote how God spread out a pillar of cloud in the morning and a pillar of fire at night to give them light (v. 39). He opened the rock to give them water (v. 41). He brought them quail and satisfied them with the bread of manna from heaven. He brought out the people with rejoicing and shouts of joy. The Israelites were commanded to obey his precepts and observe his laws.
THOUGHTS:
God’s purpose for saving the Israelites was for them to follow his precepts and obey his laws. Jesus Christ also saves us and gives us eternal life. Therefore, we should honor God by obeying his commands and live a holy life for His glory.
