SCRIPTURE: PSALM 116
MEMORY VERSES:
“I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live”(Psalm 116:1-2)
“The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion; the Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me” (Psalm 116:5-6)
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15)
“I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people” (Psalm 116:17-18)
The Psalmist was in danger. He called on the Lord and the Lord heard his cry for mercy. He faced the cords of death and the anguish of the grave. But the Lord protected and saved him from trouble and sorrow. He found rest in the Lord.
HOW TO REPAY THE LORD FOR ALL HIS GOODNESS?
- Lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. (v. 13)
- Fulfill your vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. (v. 14. 18)
- Sacrifice a thank offering and call on the name of the Lord. (v. 17)
THOUGHTS:
The writer’s love for the Lord had grown because he had experienced answers to his prayers. If you are discouraged, remember that God is responsive and he bends down to listen to your voice. Be comforted that God is near listening to every prayer and answering each in His time to give you the best.
