Our Daily Scripture – 4/9/24 (Tuesday)

SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 130

MEMORY VERSES:

“Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice.  Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy” (Psalm 130:1-2)

“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.  My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning” (Psalm 130:5-6)

The Psalmist cried out to the Lord in the depths of his despair.  He was seeking forgiveness of his sins.  He was waiting patiently for the Lord.  He was hoping for his full redemption.

THOUGHTS:

Despair makes us feel isolated and distant from God.  But this is precisely when we need God most to prevent us having the feeling of self-pity and hopelessness.  We have to turn to God, confess our sins and ask for forgiveness.  When He forgives, it completely tears down any wall between us and God.  We can talk to Him openly about anything and pour out all our anxieties,
