SCRIPTURE: PSALM 132
MEMORY VERSES:
“I will not enter my house or go to my bed – I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob” (Psalm 132:4-5)
“Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool ” (Psalm 132:7)
“I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy” (Psalm 132:15-16)
This Psalm was written when the Jewish exiles returned to their land from Babylon. David wanted to build a temple for the Lord. The Lord promised that David’s line would continue the throne. The Lord will not forget Jerusalem, the city of David. he will restore power and light and make the city a testimony to the nations.
THOUGHTS:
When the going is tough, remember the Jews prepared the way for the Son of God who came to their city and temple and gave his life for the sins of the world.
The Lord promised that David’s son would sit on Israel’s throne forever and perpetually rule over Israel as long as they followed God. Jesus Christ, the Messiah was a descendant of David who reigns forever with power, might and glory.
