Our Daily Scripture – 4/25/24 (Thursday)

SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 146

MEMORY VERSES:

“Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, O my soul.  I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” (Psalm 146:1-2)

“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.  When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.” (Psalm 146:3-4)

This chapter started and ended with ‘PRAISE THE LORD”.  The Psalmist will praise the Lord all his life and sing praises to God as long as he lives.  He emphasized on the importance of “Praising the Lord”.

PEOPLE WHOM GOD HAD HELPED:

  1.  The oppressed (v. 7a)
  2.  The poor (v. 7b)
  3.  The prisoners (v. 7c)
  4.  The blind (v. 8a)
  5.  Those who a bowed down. (v. 8b)
  6.  The righteous (v. 8c)
  7.  The aliens (v. 9)
  8.  The fatherless and widows (v. 9b)

THOUGHTS: 

The Lord is worthy of our PRAISE.

WHAT IS PRAISE?

  1.  Praise is an evidence of God in our life.
  2.  Praise is an encouragement to faith – faith looks upward to God for help
  3.  Praise is an encouragement to hope – hope looks forward as we travel in our life’s journey
  4.  Praise is an encouragement to love – love empowers us to trust Him and bring greater love.
