Our Daily Scripture – 4/27/24 (Saturday)

SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 148

MEMORY VERSE:

“Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.” (Psalm 148:13)

The word “Praise” appeared 12 times in this chapter.

WHO MUST PRAISE THE LORD?

  1.  His angels and his heavenly host. (v. 2)
  2.  Sun and moon (v. 3)
  3.  Highest heaves and water above the skies. (v. 4)
  4.  Sea creatures and all ocean depth (v. 7)
  5.  Lighting and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds (v. 8)
  6.  Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars (v. 9)
  7.  Wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds (v. 10)
  8.  Kings of the earth and all nations, princes and all rulers on earth (v. 11)
  9.  Young men and maidens, old men and children (v. 12)

WHY DO WE HAVE TO PRAISE THE LORD? 

  1.  He commanded and they were created. (v. 5)
  2.  He set his creation in place forever and ever. (v. 6a)
  3.  He gave a decree that will never pass away. (v. 6b)
  4.  Only his name is exalted and his splendor is above the earth and the heavens. (v. 13)
  5.  He has raised up a home for his people. (v. 14)

THE PSALMIST SAID THAT THE FOLLOWING MUST PRAISE THE LORD:

  1.  The heavens – angels, heavenly bodies and the clouds.
  2.  The earth – dept s of the sea, height of the mountain, winds and trees.
  3.  Mankind – all men and women created in God’s image.

THOUGHTS:

God’s creation is composed of harmonious parts blended together like a majestic symphony that offer songs of praise to the Lord.  As believers of God, we must praise God by singing songs and playing musical instrument to glorify Him.
