SCRIPTURE: PROVERBS 31
MEMORY VERSES:
“O my son, O son of my womb, O son of my vows, do not spend your strength on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings.” (Proverbs 31:2)
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8-9)
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty if fleeing; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” (Proverbs 31:30-31)
Kings are not to drink wine nor crave beer. Otherwise they may forget what the law decrees and deprive all the rights of the oppressed. Beer and wine are fitted for those who are perishing or in anguish so that they can forget their poverty and misery.
THE WIFE OF NOBLE CHARACTER (vs. 10-31)

- HER HEART – She brings good to her husband and the family. She fears the Lord and is faithful to Him.
THOUGHTS:
This chapter was written by King Lemuel. His name means “devoted to God”. He wrote the descriptive character of a noble woman for us to emulate.
Kings are advised not to drink because alcohol chokes the mind and can lead to impatience and poor decisions. People in leadership who anesthetized themselves with alcohol will compromise their principles and become drunkards in the end.
An ideal woman is not one with beautiful physical appearance. Her attractions comes from the inner beauty. She is an excellent wife and mother. She has outstanding abilities. She is a manufacturer, importer, manager, realtor, farmer, seamstress, upholsterer and merchant. Her family’s social position is high. Let us let her be our inspiration as we learn from her industry, integrity and resourcefulness.
