SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 2
MEMORY VERSES:
“The arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.” (Isaiah 2:17-18)
“Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22)
THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD (vs. 1-5)
In the last days, the temple of the Lord will be established. It will be a center of truth and blessings for the Jews and Gentiles. Nations will no longer have conflict. There will be peace and they will walk in the light of the Lord.
THE DAY OF THE LORD (vs. 6-20)
The people had replaced the belief with astrology and Eastern religion. They practiced divination and engaged in pagan practices. Therefore, in the end times, man’s pride will be brought low, sin will be judged and the Lord will be exalted. But God will protect his believing remnants in the day of judgment.
THOUGHTS:
The temple of the Lord will be built on Mt. Moriah. It will attract the nations because of God’s presence and influence. The people bowed down to idols, practiced divination and worshiped along with Yahweh. People today also worship objects that symbolize power, money and prestige. When we worship something created greater than worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ, that something becomes our God.
In the last days, the arrogant, the lofty and the proud will be humbled. The idols will disappear and the Lord alone will be exalted. Therefore we must entrust our life and future to the all knowing, perfect and faithful God. Never trust in man, for man’s mortality is as “frail as breath”.
