SCRIPTURE: ECCLESIASTES 10
MEMORY VERSES:
“As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.” (Ecclesiastes 10:1-2)
“Whoever digs a pit may fall into it; whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.” (Ecclesiastes 10:8-9)
“No one knows what is coming – who can tell him what will happen after him? (Ecclesiastes 10:14)
“If a man is lazy, the rafters sag; If his hands are idle, the house leaks. (Ecclesiastes 10:18)
The world seems to honor the fool and humiliate the honorable. But guard your heart to avoid folly in your work and your words. Work with skill not with strength. Do not allow folly to be mixed with the perfume of wisdom and honor.
THOUGHTS:
Wealth alone can never bring justice. Everything that we have is nothing without God. When God uses the little things we have, our needs will be satisfied.
When a tool is dull, you cannot chop a wood. When you lack skills, you cannot do a good job. Therefore, you need training and practice to sharpen your skills so that you can be more effective in God’s work.
Money is necessary for survival. But it is not the answer to every problem. The love of money is dangerous because it deceives us into thinking that we can get everything we want with money. We then put our trust in money instead with God. That makes us spiritually bankrupt.
