SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 32
MEMORY VERSE:
“The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.” (Isaiah 32:17)
THE KINGDOM OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (vs 1-8)
Prophet Isaiah was speaking about leaders in the kingdom. They should be be both rocks and rivers providing security and sufficiency. Rocks do not move or change while rivers are moving and changing. Leaders must be consistent and faithful. They must also be adaptable and fruitful. The people will become wise. They were able to see with their eyes, hear with their ears the spiritual truth.
THE WOMEN OF JERUSALEM (v. 9-20)
The women of Jerusalem were careless and complacent. They felt secured even God’s judgment was about to fall. Their happy homes were about to be destroyed.
When the Spirit of God is poured on them, justice and righteousness will dwell in the land. They will be blessed with peace and prosperity for the future kingdom.
THOUGHTS:
Judah’s people had suffered injustice from evil rulers. One day, Christ will be their righteous king who will reign and rule with justice. When King Jesus reigns in your heart, there is no place for sin.
When people turned their backs on God and enjoyed their own pleasures of crops, clothes, lands, and cities, they were not aware when the enemy was approaching. Similarly, wealth and luxury bring false security lulling us into thinking all is well even when disaster is around the corner.
If you want to have true peace and security, let God’s spirit dwell in your heart. God’s spirit is available to all believers through Christ.
