Our Daily Scripture – 7/30/24 (Tuesday)

SCRIPTURE:  ISIAH 41

MEMORY VERSE:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

THE HELPER OF ISRAEL (vs. 1-29)

As the exiles prepared to return to their land, they were afraid of other nations.  But God assured them that He was in control of everything.

The Lord is the first and the last.  He had renewed the strength of Israel.  He handed nations over to Israel by turning them to dust with his sword.  He had given Jerusalem a message of good tidings.  God gave the assurance saying: “You are my servant.  I have chosen you.  Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you.  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (v. 10).  He made rivers flow on barren heights and springs within the valley.  He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into springs within the valleys. (vs. 13-19). He told them not to worry about the future because God knows the future.

THOUGHTS:

All believers are God’s chose people.  One day, God will bring all his faithful people together.  God gives us these assurances:

  1.  I am with you.
  2.  I am your God.
  3. I will give you strength.
  4. I will help you.
  5. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Therefore, we must not be afraid or be dismayed because our God is a powerful, true and faithful God.

Many nations believe in a false god which is useless and without any power.  We must not be tempted to put our trust in something other than the living God.  Only God is trustworthy to keep His promise and deliver it.
