SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 52
MEMORY VERSE:
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns! (Isaiah 52:7)
PREPARATIONS NEEDED BY THE ISRAELITES BEFORE THEY CAN RETURN TO THEIR HOMELAND.
- Wake up and cloth with strength. (V. 1A)
- Put on the garments of splendor. (v. 1b)
- Shake off dust, rise up, sit enthroned and free yourself from the chains on your neck. (v. 2)
- Listen, lift up your voice and shout for joy. (v. 8)
- Depart, touch no unclean thing, come out and be pure. (v. 11)
THE SUFFERING AND GLORY OF THE SERVANT (vs. 13-15)
After the Lord had suffered, He will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
THOUGHTS:
Those who bring good news are described as having beautiful feet because they declare peace, bring good tidings and proclaim salvation.
The Lord promised to go before the Israelites and be their rear guard as they departed from Babylon. He told them not to leave in haste nor go in fear because God guaranteed them protection and guidance.
