THOUGHTS:

Jerusalem was unfruitful like a childness woman but God permitted her to have many children and changed her mourning into singing.

When God abandoned Israel, it was like a young wife being rejected by her husband.  Since God was holy, He cannot tolerate sin.  But when Israel repented of their sins, God forgave them and brought them back.  Likewise, sin separates us from God and bring us pain and suffering.  But if we confess our sins and repent, God will forgive us and bring us back to Him.
