THOUGHTS:
Moab were descendants of Lot through an incestuous relationship with one of his daughters. They led the Israelites into idolatry. They were later conquered by Babylon and disappeared as a nation.
When Israel was divided into Northern and Southern kingdom, the Northern kingdom set up gold calf idols in Bethel in order to keep people from going to worship in Jerusalem, the capital of the Southern Kingdom.
God condemned Moab because of its pride. They took personal credit and looked down on others. God cannot tolerate pride. He wants us to have an honest and humble heart.
