A PROPHECY AGAINST SIDON (vs. 20-26)

God will inflict punishment on Sidon to show himself holy.  He will send a plague and make blood flow in her streets.  But God will gather  the Israel from the nations where they have been scattered.  They will live in their own land in safety and build houses and plant vineyards.  God will inflect punishment on all their neighbors who maligned them.  They will no longer have malicious neighbors and they will know that He is the Lord, their God.

THOUGHTS:

Ezekiel focused this chapter on the prophecy against Tyre’s leader.  The king of Tyre thought that he was god and his heart was lifted up with pride.  In his attempt to take the place of God, God cast him down.  In a broader spiritual application, the king of Tyre is compared to Satan, whose pride resulted him to be cast out from the Garden of Eden.  So beware of having pride in your heart.
