PRAYER AND PRAISES (vs. 14-20)

PRAYER:

“Shepherd your people with your staff and let them fed in Bashan and Gilead.  Do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.  Have compassion on us and tread our sins underfoot.  Hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.  Be true to Jacob and show mercy to Abraham.

PRAISES:

Nations will see and be ashamed of all their power.  They will lay their hands on their mouths and their ears will become deaf.  They will lick dust like a snake, like creatures that crawl on the ground.  They will come trembling out of their dens ; they will turn in fear to the Lord our God and will be afraid of you.

THOUGHTS:

From this chapter, we see the attributes of God:

  1.  He is faithful – People may fail us but the Lord can be trusted.
  2.  He is righteous – God will help us defeat our enemies and bring us blessings.
  3.  He is merciful – God pardons our sins if we confess it.  He puts our sins underfoot and hurls them into the depths of the sea.
