SCRIPTURE: MALACHI 3
MEMORY VERSE:
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, ” says the Lord Almighty, ” and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” (Malachi 3:10)
WHAT WILL THE LORD DO WHEN HE COMES?
- He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. (v. 2)
- He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver and purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. (v. 3)
- The offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to Him. (v. 4)
- He will come to judge against sorcerers, adulterers, perjurers, and those who defraud laborers of their ways, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice. (v. 5)
ROBBING GOD (vs. 6-18)
The Israelites had robbed God because they did not bring tithes and offerings to Him. If the Israelites will give tithes to God, God will prevent pests from devouring their crops and the vines in their fields will bear good fruits. Then all the nations will call them blessed for their delightful land. The Lord assured those who feared and honored Him will inherit His treasured possession.
THOUGHTS:
- Are you prepared for the coming of Christ to judge the earth?
- Everything we have is from God. It is our obligation to return to Him a part of what He has given. Are you robbing God by failing to bring tithes and offerings to Him for the advancement of His kingdom?
- When you give, you will receive. Remember that the blessings that God promised are not always material. They may be in the form of good health, peace, joy and contentment.
