[:en]This is a great Psalm of victory by David. He pictured the enemies like smoke being blown away and wax being melted before the fire. And God is the great conqueror residing in heaven. He is also a Father giving comfort to the broken-hearted. He is a judge and a redeemer who brings out freedom to those who are bound with chains.
Jesus Christ has fought the batttle and won the victory for us. He has ascended on high and led captivity captive. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in majesty and glory. God who went before us to win the victory had now gone above us to share the victory. Now, He dwells among us, giving gifts to His people.
The Lord our Savior bears our burden daily. Our burdens of life may come because of our disobedience, rebellion, sin, unbelief, unkindness and selfishness. But if we are walking in the path of His chossing, He is going to turn our burden into benefits.
Paul was an example of having a burden – the thorn in the flesh. He prayed 3 times for God to take it away. But God turned that burden into benefit by giving him sufficient grace.
Our God is a God of strength. He is an awesome God with power and majesty. David told us to ask for strength from God and ascribe to His strength.
Reflection:
- Take a good look at your enemies. They are like smoke and wax and will soon vanish. Our Father up in heaven is watching over you. He is your redeemer, your conqueror who will deliver you from your enemies.
- Not only God will win the battle, He will also dwell in you and share the victory for you. Will you trust Him completely?
- If you have a burden today, trust Him for the grace your need. He will transform that burden into a benefit in His time.
- Remember to acknowledge the strength of God. Ask Him for the strength you need. Look up and take courage, for God is the God of strength.
