[:en]Asaph was surpirised to see Israel in danger while God remained silent and inactive. Other nations were forming military alliances against the Jews but God did nothing. The enemy wanted to destroy Israel and took possession of their lands and God was permitting them to do so.
So Asaph prayed and reminded God of what He did to Israel during the days of Judges. Then he painted some vivid pictures of nature on how to wipe them away.
- Make them like the tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind (v. 13)
- Let them be like the forest being consumed by fire (v. 14)
- Pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm (v. 15)
Asaph was not only concerned about the safety of Israel but he wanted the name of the Lord be glorified (v. 16)/
When you are perplexed on what is happening today and it seems God is not saying or doing anything, turn your enemies to God. Rest assure that He is going to work on your behalf. He is a powerful God. He knows how to take care of you.[:]
