[:en]Henan, the Ezrahite was the author of this Psalm. When he wrote it, he was suffering tremendously without any relief. He felt like a man without strength lying in the grave (vs. 4-5), like a drowning man sinking under cold wave and billows (v. 7), like a defiled man watching everybody running away and leaving him alone (v. 8). He felt like a doomed man whom God had rejected. (v. 14)
Lonely, weak and sick, he did not give up. He prayed to God every morning crying for help. He started each day with the Lord and looked to him alone. For he trusted in His love, faithfulness and righteousness.
Reflection:
When nothing seems to go right, when people are neglecting you and God seems to have forgotten you, continue to pray because God will answer your prayer. Always begin your day with the Lord to give you the strength to keep going. Look to God alone and trust Him to see you through.[:]
