Peter had many shortcomings. While walking on water to Jesus, Peter began to sink. (Mat. 14:25-31). When Jesus was arrested, Peter denied Him trhee times (Mar 14:66-72). But Peter came to realize that God has given him the power of the Holy Spirit to meet the challenges of his ministry.
God’s divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3). Though Him, we can participlate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires ( Pet. 1:4)
