[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 109[:]

[:en]When David was being attacked by wicked and deceitful men, he felt the silence of God.  This Psalm records another of King David’s ” Imprecatory Prayers”.  He asked God to judge the man who lied about him, to condem his enemies’ prayer and take  away his days and leadership (vs. 6-8).  He also wanted God to judge the man’s children be fatherless, his wife become a widow, his children become wandering beggars, his labor seized by creditors and plundered by strangers, his descendants cut off and their name blotted out (vs. 9-13).  He even asked that the man’s ancestor’s sins come up before God for judgment (vs. 14-16) and the liar reaped just what he has sown (vs. 18-20)

But no matter what, David ended with “With my mouth, I will greatly extol the Lord in the great throng I will praise Him” (v. 30).  David not only praise God, he also witnessed and tell others about what God had done for him.  He also trusted God in heaven who is at the right hand of God. (v. 31)

Application:

When your heart is wounded because people have mistreated you, spoke lies about you and rewarded you evil for good, take it to the Lord and tell Him how you feel.  Pray for patience and humility.  Cultivate in your heart for the application of God’s Word and for delighting in worship and service of God.  Give the Lord the opporunity to heal your wounded heart.  No matter how God deals with your enemies, be sure to praise Him.  Get rid of your enemy by leaving him with the Lord.  Instead of thinking constantly about your problem in life, go out and tell others about the One who is the problem solver and whom you can trust.[:]
