[:en]This Psalm was quoted by Jesus (Mat. 22:41-46) and Peter (Acts 2:32-36) and the author of Hebrews quoted it (*or alluded to it) many times.
This Psalms speaks about Jesus as:
- The Lord (v. 1) – “The Lord says to my Lord has been a confusing statement. If Messiah is David’s son, how can Messiah be David’s Lord? The answer is: Messiah comes as a man through the family of David. He is both eternal God and man, divine and human.
- Th King (s. 2-3) – As a king, the Lord will rule with his mighty scepter. He has won the battle against his enemies. But the final victory has yet to be won.
- The Priest (v. 4) – Mechizedeh and Jesus Christ are the only king priest that God has accepted. As priest, Jesus can help with the feelings and weaknesses within us.
- The Judge (vs. 5-7) – The Lord is seated at the right hand of God. One day He will come to judge the nations and deal with his enemies. At the end, He will be victorious and be exalted above the whole earth.
