[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 116[:]

[:en]The Psalmist was in near death experience.  But when he cried out to the Lord, the Lord saved him.  He declared:  “The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.  The Lord protects the simplehearted.  When I am in great need, He saved me” (vs. 5-6)

How did he repay the Lord:?

  1.  I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord (v. 13)
  2. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people (v. 14, 18)
  3. I will sacrifice a thank offering to you can call on the name of the Lord (v. 17)
  4. I will praise the Lord in the courts of the house of the Lord (v. 19)

His view about death:  – “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints”  (v. 15)[:]
