[:en]A DAY TO REST
The Lord instituted a time of Sabbath – a time for rest and renewal – for His people in the ancient Near East because He wanted them to thrive. In Exodus, He tells them to sow their fields for 6 years and rest on the 7th. This is also true with working. The fourth commandments told us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy by resting on the 7th day. He set apart the Israelites from others nations a day to rest but the foreigners and slaves in their households were also allowed to follow this pattern.
A day of rest is essential in rediscovering the beatury and richness of life. Let that rest day be a day to worship the Lord, to feed our souls, to clear our minds and to relax our body. If our Creator rested on the 7th day, how much more we – as his creatures need to renew and refresh ourselves through a rest. – (Amy Boiucher Pye)
Are you taking a rest? If not, start it now![:]
