He who is full loathes honey, but to the hungry, even what is bitter tastes sweet (v. 7) A man who strays from his home is like a brid that strays from its nest (v. 8). A loyal friend nearby is better than a brother far way when disaster strikes you (v. 10).
Be wise and bring joy to your heart (v. 11). Be prudent to see danger and take refuge (v. 12). Do not put up security for a stranger (v. 13.) Avoid associating with quarrelsome wife who is difficult to restrain (vs. 15-16). He who is industrious will prosper and he who is loyal to his master will be honored (v. 18) The way a man responds to praise reveals his character just as a jeweler’s furnace reveals the nature of the precious metal (v. 21). The folly of a fool can never be removed (v. 22). Take good care of your flocks and herds. The lambs will provide you with clothing. The goats will provide you with the price of a field and plenty of milk to feed your whole family (vs. 23-27). Remember that riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations (v. 24)
