[:en]The leaders of Isarael did not turn to God. When the Assyrians threatened them, they trusted diplomacy instead of God. They sought alliance from Egypt, but Egypt was like a high wall cracked and bulging and about to collapse. The Lord was waiting for their repentance. If they trust Him, He would give them strength. He would show compassion and rescue them. (v. 18)
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” (v. 18)
Do not trust things that cannot help you. Trust in Him and you will experience many of His blessings – answered prayers, guidance (vs. 20-21), cleansing (v. 22), abundance (vs. 23-26), victory (vs. 27-33) and joy (v. 29)[:]
