[:en]SCRIPTURE: ACTS 18
“Do not be afraid, keep on speaking; do not be silent. For I am with you and no one is going to attack and harm you because I have many people in the city” (Acts 18:9-10)
IN CORINTH (vs. 1-17)
Corinth was a great city famous for its bronze and pottery works. It was also the city where sporting events were held. When Paul went there, he met Aquila and his wife Priscilla, who were tentmakers. Paul stayed and worked with them and preached every Sabbath in the synagogue.
Then Paul left the synagogue and went to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. Among those who believed were: Crispus, the synagogue ruler and his entire household and many of the Corinthians. They were all baptized.
Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half with God’s assurance of protection. The Jews accused Paul of persuading people to worship God in ways contrary to the law. They brought him to the court where Gallo was the proconsul of Achaia. Achaia refused to listen to their complaints and told them to settle their matter concerning words and names of their own law.
PRISCILLA, AQUILA AND APOLLOS (vs. 18-28)
Paul accompanied Priscilla and Aquila to Ephesus. Then he left for Caesarea dn spend some time in Antioch. Later, he traveled through the region of Galatia and Phrygia strengthening all the disciples.
A Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexander came to Ephesus. Priscilla and Aquila invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God. When Apollos went to Achaia, he refuted the Jews in public debate and taught them that Jesus was the Christ.[:]
