[:en]SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 9
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever shows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us, your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 9:11)
PAUL EMPHASIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF GENEROSITY BY SHOWING THE RESULTS OF GIVING:
- It supplies the needs of God’s people
- It is an expression of the overflowing of thanks to God
- It encourages others to give
- It brings blessings to others
- It added more grace to ourselves
- It is an opportunity to show our love for God and our faith in His Word.
- It brings glory to God.
SUMMARY:
All we have comes from God, so that we must use it for spiritual purpose. Giving is not a burden but a blessing. If we sow sparingly, we also reap sparingly. We must give willingly, not grudgingly because God loves a cheerful giver. Our offerings will enrich other and bring glory to God.[:]
