[:en]SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 6

“Go at once” the king commanded Haman.  “Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate.  Do not neglect anything you have recommended” (Esther 6:10)

MORDECAI HONORED (vs. 1-14)

The king could not sleep that night.  So he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign to be brought and read to him.  It was found out that Mordecai had saved the king’s life by reporting to him the plot of Bigthana and Teresh to assassinate him.  But Mordecai was not rewarded.  As Haman arrived, the king asked him: “What should be done for the man the king delights to honor” (v. 6).  Thinking that he was the one to be honored, he told the king to have him worn the royal robe, sat on the horse the king has ridden, placed with a royal crest on his head and let the most noble princes whom the king entrusted to lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him: “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor” (v. 9)

So the king told Haman to do everything he said to Mordecai.  When Haman returned home, he was in grief.  His wife warned him that he could not against Mordecai and overcome the Jews.  He will surely come to ruin.   While they were still talking, the king’s servant came to take Haman to the second banquet of Esther.[:]
