[:en]SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 7
“If I have found favor with you O King, and if it pleases your majesty, grant me my life – this is my petition. And spare my people – this is my request” (Esther 7:4)
HAMAN HANGED (vs. 1-10)
The king, Haman and queen Esther were dining and drinking wine together. The king asked Esther for her request. This time she opened her heart to plead for the life of her people. She revealed to the king that the man who plotted this plan was Haman. The king was shocked, so he got up in rage and went out into the palace garden. Haman stayed behind to beg for mercy. When the king returned and saw Haman falling on the couch where Esther was reclining, he was enraged. The king commanded Haman to be executed on the very tree he had prepared for Mordecai.
SUMMARY:
Haman’s downfall was perfectly illustrated in Psalms 37 and 73. (Please read Ps. 37 & 73). Beware of pride. “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Prov. 16:18). “Before his downfall, a man’s heart is proud but humility comes before honor” (Prov. 18:12). Mordecai was a humble and righteous man. So God raised him up. “The righteous is rescued from trouble and it comes on the wicked instead” (Prov. 11:8)[:]
