[:en]SCRIPTURE: JOB 4
“Your words have supported those who stumbled; you have strengthened faltering knees. But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are dismayed. Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope?” (Job 4: 4-6)
ELIPHAZ
Eliphaz, the Temanite came to comfort Job, but he ended up criticizing him. First, he asked Job why de did not practice what he preached (vs. 1-6). He told Job that sinners always reaped what they sow (vs. 87-11). Therefore, he was suggesting that he became poor and sick because of his sins and wickedness.
It is dangerous for believers to explain the ways of God to other believers based on his own narrow perspective. Eliphaz based his whole interpretation of life through his experience with God. Note that experience keep on changing. Only God’s word is the truth. God deals each person according to his needs and maturity.[:]
