[:en]SCRIPTURE:  JOB 5

For hardship does not spring from the soil, nor does trouble sprout from the ground.  Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward” (Job 5:6-7)

“But if it were I, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him” (Job 5:8)

“Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so, do not despise the discipline of the Almighty” (Job 5:17)

Eliphaz closed his speech with the following advices:

  1. Seek the Lord by appealing your cause to God (v. 8)
  2. Accept God’s discipline (v. 17)
  3. He will rescue you from calamities and ransom you from death (vs. 19-20)
  4. Then God will bless you again with wealth and descendants. (vs. 24-25)
  5. His advices may seem to be sound.  But its reasoning seems to be similar with what Satan had.  Satan argued that Job did not fear God for nothing” (vs. 1-9)
