[:en]SCRIPTURE: JOB 5
“For hardship does not spring from the soil, nor does trouble sprout from the ground. Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward” (Job 5:6-7)
“But if it were I, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him” (Job 5:8)
“Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so, do not despise the discipline of the Almighty” (Job 5:17)
Eliphaz closed his speech with the following advices:
- Seek the Lord by appealing your cause to God (v. 8)
- Accept God’s discipline (v. 17)
- He will rescue you from calamities and ransom you from death (vs. 19-20)
- Then God will bless you again with wealth and descendants. (vs. 24-25)
- His advices may seem to be sound. But its reasoning seems to be similar with what Satan had. Satan argued that Job did not fear God for nothing” (vs. 1-9)
