[:en]SCRIPTURE: JOB 18
“You who tear yourself to pieces in your anger, is the earth to be abandoned for your sake? Or must the rocks be moved from their place?” (Job 18:4)
“The lamp of the wicked is snuffed out, the flame of his fire stops burning. The light in his tent becomes dark; the lamp beside him goes out” (Job 18:5-6)
BILDAD
The harsh words of Bildad tormented and broke him. Bildad described the fate of the wicked as follows:
- His lamp is snuffed out and the flame of his fire stops burning (v. 5)
- His weakened steps throw him down (vs. 7-8)
- He is being trapped (vs. 9-10)
- Terrors startle him on every side (v. 11)
- Calamity and disaster befall him (v. 12)
- He has no security (v. 14)
- His name perished and there is no memory of him (v. 17)
- He has no offspring nor descendants (v. 19)
Those close to him should have shown Job respect. Unfortunately, they mocked him without pity. Let us ask God to help us to be sensitive to those who are hurting and show our empathy to their plight.[:]
