[:en]SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 6

“O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger, or discipline me in your wrath.  Be merciful to me Lord, for I am faint; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are in agony.  My soul is in anguish.  How long, O Lord, how long? (Psalm 6:1-3)

David’s requests to God during his experience of sickness and pain:

  1. Do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath
  2. Be merciful to me for I am faint
  3. Heal me for my bones are in agony
  4. Turn and deliver me
  5. Save me because of your unfailing love.

The ending was happy because the Lord had heard his prayer.  His enemies will be ashamed and dismayed.  They will be disgraced.

When you are being persecuted, examine your heart first.  Then come before the Lord and ask Him to forgive your sins and grant you mercy.  Experience the freedom of forgiveness and let God take care of our enemies.  For the righteous God tests your heart and mind” (v. 9)
