[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 19
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge” (Psalm 19:1-2)
“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes” (Psalm 19:7-8)
“The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous” (Psalm 19:9-10)
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14)
In this Psalm, David described the glory of God through His creation, the grace of God in His Word, and the salvation of God in our hearts. His revelation is manifested in the skies, in the Scriptures and in our hearts and souls.
David showed us 2 pictures to face the day. First, It is like a bridegroom coming out to meet his bride with hope, love and joy. Second, it is like a champion running a race.
David described God’s word as law, statues, precepts, commands and ordinances. They are perfect, trustworthy, makes the simple wise, gives joy to the heart and light for the eyes. They are more precious than pure gold and sweeter than honey. We have to keep them to get a great reward.
Then David asked God to forgive his hidden faults and keep him from willful sins. He concluded that God is his Rock and Redeemer.
