“But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow” (Psalm 60:4)
“Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered” (Psalm 60:5)
“Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God, we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies” (Psalm 60:11-12)
David and Joab were leading the armies of Israel against their enemies, Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah in the north. But a third army came to invade the south. So David cried out to the Lord. He raised up his banner of truth and got God’s assurance. God spoke from his sanctuary and assured David that He is in control of the nations. David and Joab stepped out by faith and won the battles. Joab struck down 12,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. David gave God all the glory.
If you have one problem after another, do not be afraid. March with God’s banner of truth and listen to God’s word. The Lord is our banner and you can trust Him to give you victory. After the victory, be sure to praise God and give all the glory to Him.[:]
