[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 81
“Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre” (Psalm 81:1-2)
“In your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud; I tested you at the waters of Meribah” (Psalm 81:7)
“But you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you” (Psalm 81:16)
PSALMIST’S RECOLLECTION:
- In the Past (vs. 1-7) – God has delivered them from Egypt. So they were rejoicing, singing for joy and shouting to God of Jacob. They made music by striking the tambourine and playing the melodious harp and lyre.
- At the Present (vs. 8-12) – People rebelled against the Lord. They bowed down to foreign gods. So, God departed from them and they lost all that God had for them.
- For the Future (vs. 13-16) – They should listen to God and follow His ways so that God will subdue their enemies. And they will be fed with the finest wheat and honey from the rock
Do you have regrets in the past? Are you experiencing painful sufferings today? Return to Him. God still wants the best for you. He will feed you with love and satisfy you with joy and bless you with peace.
