[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 83
“O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still” (Psalm 83:1)
“Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind” Psalm 83:13)
May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord – that you alone are the Most High over all the earth” (Psalm 83:17-18)
Israel was in danger but God was silent. The nations conspired and plotted against God’s people, but God kept quiet and did nothing. Their enemies came to destroy the nation and let the men of Israel disappeared.
So, Asaph prayed and mentioned the nations and kings that had formed an alliance against Him – Edom, Ishmaelites, Moab, Hagrites, Geba. Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, Tyre, Assyria Midian, Sisera, Jabin, Oreb, Zeeb, Zebah and Zalmunna. He asked God to send fire from the forest and storm from heaven to wipe them out. He waited all the nations to know the name of the Lord and give glory to the Most High over all the earth.
If you have enemies, turn them over to God. He knows how to take care of them. You may feel that God is saying and doing nothing. But He is working in your behalf. He is a powerful and Almighty God. He will surely win!
