[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 85
“Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us” (Psalm 85:4)
“Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation” (Psalm 85:7)
“Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land” (Psalm 85:9)
“Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other” (Psalm 85:10)
“The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps” (Psalm 85:12-13)
“Revive Us Again” in verse 6 had been set to music in the Gospel Hymn. The Psalmist wanted God to revive the people so that they might rejoice in Him. They needed the unfailing love of the Lord and His salvation. They wanted God’s faithfulness and righteousness to be upon them so that they could experience peace. For the Lord will give blessings and overflowing harvest to His people.
The churches of today need revival. We need the breath of God to blow upon us to touch our lives. We don’t need to attract people to come to church by entertainment, food, activities or programs. True revival gives us the desire to enjoy God’s presence. It means having a close relationship with God by talking to God, listening to God and walking with God.[:]
