“Your who fear him, trust in the Lord, He is their help and shield” (Psalm 115:11)
“He will bless those who fear the Lord – small and great alike” (Psalm 115:13)
“May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 115:14-15)
The Psalmist was talking about the real living god. He descfibed the idols as follows:
- They are silver and gold made by hands of men (v. 4)
- They have mouths but cannot speak (v. 5a)
- They have yes but cannot see (v. 5b)
- They have ears but cannot hear (v. 6a)
- They have noses but cannot smell (v. 6b)
- They have hands but cannot feel (v. 7a)
- They have feet but cannot walk (v. 7b)
- They have throat but cannot utter a sound (v, 7c)
Those who worship them are useless. They have no protection, no provision, no promises, and no power to rely on.
But those who fear and trust in the real living God shall receive blessings. The maker of heaven and earth will make them and their children increase. So, worship the true and living God. Praise and extol Him and you will experience the living blessings in your heart.
